Actually, I've never done this myself, other guys do it for me, but
there is an option in PHPMyAdmin to export a database (PHPMyAdmin is
accessed via the MAMP start page). You can then import that database
on your deployment server.
TO be effective in this process you should be able to navigate around

Thanks alot, Alan!

I see the process here. I am going to install WAMP and use my local
machine as the testing server. Do you have any resources for the
process of moving your local flex app and database to a remote server
for deployment? Is that process easy?

I don't know what to do about that. I've always just built my app
locally then moved the database and app to my sever to be deployed.
The easist thing to do is to use WAMP or MAMP and then run it all off
your own computer. That way you also have quicker access to error
logs and whatnot. It's easy to do.... really easy and its the work

I am sorry, that message was not descriptive.

I use FTP to connect in dreamweaver.

I am trying to determine the proper connection string to connnect to a
remote PHP service in flex. I believe it only allows http connection
strings, none of which I have tried are working.

I need to figure out what it is I am doing wrong.

I am using FTP. I haven't been using ftp, as it only allows http
connection strings in the URL Root field.
How do I determine the proper connection string?

Make sure you are connecting to a PHP service as opposed to an FTP
service. When you connect via Dreamweaver, are you connecting using a
PHP protocall or just a uploading flies via an FTP.

I do not have apache/mysql/php installed locally. I use a 3rd party
web host. I can connect to that server from my machine from and ftp
client like dreamweaver, but I cannot setup a connection from the Flex
Project menu. I am not sure if that answers your question. I feel

I am just starting to use Flex 3 to develop RIAs. I have MySQL and
PHP setup on a remote web server, not a local one. Everytime I go to

Same here on the XML Tree JB. anyways, checking the xml in the browser
is the simplest check (firefox and IE to be pretty sure).

The headers I use if you want to try is:

How are you loading the XML results into the dataGrid? I do the same
