I tried to download camera raw 5.2 and install it. It stops the installation saying stop the following application: Adobe Bridge and then retry. The thing is, Adobe Bridge is not running. I know there is a way to do this manually by moving a file into one of Adobe folders. Any one know how to do this? Windows XP is my operating System

Have you checked task manager to be sure it's not running?

In Bridge: edit/preferences/advanced - uncheck "start bridge at logon".

If you are having some issue ending it, make that change then reboot.

Thanks a lot Harold. It worked. Adobe tech support could not come up with the solution, you did.

Adobe tech support assumed that you had checked that Bridge wasn't running Paul!

You're welcome Paul I'm glad it worked. I never try to assume, at least not assume too much...or assume about someone else's assumptions. ;)

Paul, if it's any consolation, I went through the same thing when I first got CS4. It opened Bridge by default when I booted up the computer. I worked a bit in CS4 (enough to find out that it didn't work very well for me), then shut it down and started up CS3. Bridge CS3 wouldn't open, because Bridge CS4 was already open. I finally noticed the Bridge CS4 icon showing in the task bar (lower right corner of screen).

Myself, I think it's a bad idea to let Bridge CS4 start at boot-up. Talk about having a big ol' honkin' app running in the background! I'll launch Bridge when I feel the need to, thank you very much.

Thanks to all of you. I really, really appreciate it. And Nick, I will follow your advise.
