a) Check the printer's "Advanced Settings", particularly the ports. I'm reasonably sure you will find something like a "Epson printer on USB 1" port or something like that. Delete it. Optionally, also delete otehr non-standard ports if e.g. some digital camera has created them.
b) Right-click your "My Computer", choose "Manage" and check the device manager. Delete the USB ports listed there, particularly ones flagged with Epson of course. Likewise, delete any CF/SD/MicroSD slots associated with the printer. Now right-click the topmost computer icon and choose "Scan for new hardware". This will re-instate all ports and should also initiate an automated driver install for printers. Just make sure the printer is powered and you have the driver disks handy...

Just installed beautiful new Epson Photo R2880 - incredible printer!!! - and made 2 prints using Photoshop CS4 right out of the box with no problems. Went to make another print - and got the weird error detailed here.
Tried the port delete (thank you Mylenium !!!!) but no change. Re-installed Espon drivers. Can print from Office and Paint Shop Pro. Windows XP Home with SP3
I am also advanced PC user in most things but this isn't working.
Can anyone help ???? !!!! Is there anyone I can call at Adobe for help on this?
Thanks so much
