Is there a way to rename the "Label"'s in Photoshop Measurement log?

Export the text file, open it in Excel...

Yes thats a way but once the text file is exported, you will not know which measurement is referring to which element on screen :(

Thats why, when you are recording the measurement, it would be nice to be able to rename so that one can remember it later.

Would that be possible?

If not, can a plugin be written to do this?

I don't think so. The function is quite rudimentary, unfortunately. You can however do measurements and have them rendered into the graphic in Vanishing point. Maybe that provides a workaround.
