Why and will it be in a future (free) upgrade?
If Bridge does go 64 bit it won't be until CS5 at the earliest.

I was just askin'
Sheesh...
And I answered you. What type of information were you looking for?
I'm amazed at the lack of understanding that goes into putting these
applications together. People actually do think it's a simple matter to
"port" applications. It's not.
Bob
someone "snapped their fingers" and CS4 and LR is 64 bit.
try snapping your fingers for 18 months... :)
What type of information were you looking for?
How about "information" which neither post offered. I know it's difficult to write an app in 64bit. I know it's difficult to write it in 32bit, and I'm sure 20 years ago writing one in 16bit was a PITA, too. When I programmed basic to make one little block move two blocks over, I would have much rathered been drinking a beer on a quiet beach somewhere. But all this stuff happened (even the beer drinking).
Now, Photoshop and LR is 64bit. I wondered why and when Bridge might do the same thing. We were given a "why" PS is 32bit for Macs instead of 64bit. I just wondered if there were a "why" for Bridge--especially when LR is 64bit and is very Bridge-like.
I was looking for information, not castigation. Simple request, not that deep.
I was looking for information, not castigation.
and i wasn't "castigating" you. i was simply pointing out that this stuff is hard work. to move a couple major apps over to 64 bits in that time frame (18 mos.) is huge. "snap your fingers" is the only thing i was taking issue with...
