Photoshop preferences save when you exit the application.
And yes, you change them inside the application (but preferences includes a lot more than just the things in the preferences dialog).
For instance when the computer is shut down with PS still running.
Rob
be careful. this I think, is a troll.
On the other hand, not even the trolls are so stupid.
This one said, 'I thought they were supposed to remain the same..'
So, they change. What a liar!
Are you using a 'portable edition'?
It can happen several times a week, without warning. I always close Photoshop before turning off the computer at night, and haven't had any crashes or power failures during all this time.
This is a work-supplied computer running Windows XP Professional.
Intermittently, Photoshop just resets all of the preferences in Edit>Preferences. Every category, from "General" to "Memory" settings.
It is my understanding that Photoshop is supposed to automatically save those, but if that's not the case, can someone please advise?
If they do need to be saved, how is that done? I never had this problem in previous versions of Photoshop. Thanks.
I know that's not a solution, but maybe it'll help a little bit. especially if you're constantly losing a lot of custom stuff you need to recreate like actions and brushes etc.
Thanks for your quick response, I'll give that a try. Sounds like a good solution until I can figure out the underlying cause.
Obliged.
