Is there a way of checking the brush version downloaded from the web?

brushes are custom, so... oh wait, you mean what version of PHOTOSHOP created the brush? duh. :)

no i'm not sure. maybe try opening it in notepad and see if there's a version number in there somewhere...

anyone else got any bright ideas? :)

nah, i downloaded a couple and created a couple. can't seem to tell by looking at the guts of the file in a text editor... maybe someone else will know of a way...

don't some newer brushes choke older versions of photoshop. might be useful to know i guess. most of the sites i looked at said what version it was created in though.
