I am pretty new to photoshop and found a problem you perhaps can help me with. I am using CS2.

I am editing a pic (drawing) and using the pen to create shapes that are to hard to make with a brush. With the pen I am having it fill the shape with desired color as I create it. After creating the shape, I add an anchor point or two to adjust it to fit correctly. I then want to further touch it up by using the brush. It seems though that my brush will not work at all. I have changed the color and tried brushing in a new area but there is nothing. If I save the image and reopen it, I can brush to my hearts content until I've used the pen again. then I need to repeat the process.

Anything? Anyone?

What brand and model of tablet are you using?

Are you trying to use the tablet and mouse at the same time (possibly leaving the tablet pen on the tablet while using the mouse)?

I think you are trying to modify a Shape layer (vector) with a raster tool (Brush. Can't do that unless you rasterize the Shape layer.

C'mon, Chris; you knew that.

Nah, not how I read it the first time.

Howie,

Just as a test, choose the Path of your Shape in the Paths Palette. Choose Stroke Path and choose Brush. What happens?

Though Chris might be correct, I'm leaning towards Ed's explanation. Maybe also tell us a bit more about the Layer that you have active.

Good luck,

Hunt
