Apparently we need to pound long and hard on the video card manufacturers to update their drivers for the various cards and OS combinations. I'm not holding my breathe ...
Indeed, NVIDIA is pushing only their high-end Quadro CX for CS4 use (retailing in Canada at about $2000).

I have the same problem although my card is an Adobe qualified Nvidia
8800GT. My Primary monitor is a Samsung TFT with DVI input and my
Secondary is a Hitachi 19" crt VGA via DVI adaptor to the dual head card.
I have the latest Nvidia driver and it meets the Adobe open GL standard and
shader level. However I also cannot get CS4 to "ungray" the open GL menu.
I get the error message saying that my card does not meet the Adobe
requirement for open GL.
Perhaps someone will find a solution.
