Photoshop laser printer white color

We are printing out some psd files that were sent to us on a laser printer . There are little dots of ink all over the page.. It seems that what photoshop outputs the printer doesn't think its pure white and is trying to print some color.. even when we change the background to transparent it still prints these dots of ink all over the page.. Indesign does not have this issue..

We have been trying to narrow this down for a while now.. Its as simple as creating a new psd..typing in text and hitting print..Bam little dots of ink all over the page.. Its like the printer thinks it should print some color even though the colors in ps are white or transparent..

Hard to explain..did that make sense??
any ideas?

Make sure you use the correct color conversion settings when printing.
It sounds like you used the wrong settings in Photoshop or the printer driver.

Xerox Phaser 6180 printer???
Do we just keep guessing???
Is there some file that might come with the printer or what???

might start with the manual that came with the printer. it probably had a disk to with lots of stuff on it.

Are you letting Photoshop do the color conversions?
Have you disabled all color conversions in the printer driver?
Do you have the correct profile for the printer?
Are you using relative colorimetric intent for the conversion?
