Transfering CS2 presets to CS4, is there a way to do this?

Hiya,

This is an important question, for me at least. I do a bit of work in the Poser community, I've just upgraded from CS2 to CS4 and uninstalled CS2 already only to find that my brushes, patterns and styles (all very important to be able to continue working) are in a new format called .asl and these are in .psp format.

I really need to get these moved over to CS4. Thanks

OK, I got it figured out in case anyone was interested. I made sure and copied the presets that were in the Programs folder over like Brushes (abr), Styles (asl) and Patterns (pat). Opened up Photoshop CS4 and created a brush, a style and a pattern. I then saved the practice file to the desktop, closed Photoshop. Went to the C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Adobe Photoshop CS4 Settings folder and looked. Sure enough psp files had been created for the brushes, patterns and styles. So then I just dropped the older files in that folder with all my needed info within and overwrote them. Opened up Photoshop.... all fixed. Happy camper!!

Since I don't have CS4 I am obviously out of touch, but is there truly no C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS4\Presets folder these days? Copying into the appropriate subfolders or just dragging into them would seem to be the easy way.

Not that I could see in the beginning. When you first open up a NEW version of Photoshop, at least from what I could figure out, presets were not added to the

C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Adobe Photoshop CS4 Settings

folder so it didn't matter that I had added all my previous presets to the folders in the main Program Folders, the trick was getting the presets in the above mentioned folders overwriting the ones that were created, as explained above.
