Just installed CS4 today and having a play particularly in so much that it integrates with Lightroom my prime RAW file editor without any problems. I've noticed that when I right click on an image in Lightroom and select to Edit in CS4 I get a pop-up advising that this may require ACR5.3 and further advizes updating Photoshop. However, the Adobe Camera Raw update site makes no mention of ACR5.3 (latest being 5.2). Am I missing something here or is Lightroom 2.3RC one step ahead of the gun?

Ah yes, now I see. Thanks for that - never thought of looking at the labs site.

Be aware that these RC versions are Release Candidates, ie not yet finalised for general use.

Should be OK but I'm waiting for the production version.

And this RC announces to expire soon.

Which suggests there'll either be a new beta RC2 with a new expiration date or the final version will be out shortly.

My thoughts also. ACR5.2 appears to cover all my current needs so why play with RC versions. That said, I've been using the RC version of Lightroom for a while now without problems.

The only people that really need 5.3 are people with very new model cameras that weren't covered in 5.2.

BTW, the date ACR 5.3 announces as its expiration is 3/31. It also says that you can continue to use it after the expiration but it will tell you, once-a-day, that it has expired. I've been using ACR 5.3 RC without any problems, but I also have CS4 Extended in Add/Remove programs.
