Hello,

So I have smart object. Obviously if I scale larger than it's original resolution I'll get interpolation and a mess.

When I place a smart object, I get it usually to fit to my document size, if object is bigger than document. The only way to get a smart object at full size is copy/pasting then turning into a smart object.

So, once I've placed a smart object, and I want to reset it to the original, say after I've done some filters and alterations to it... is that possible, to reset it... ? Otherwise, I've just opened the smart object, then copy/pasted back into the destination document and made a new smart object based off of that.

In addition... it's hard to tell my scale limitations before I ruin the resolution. Without.. having to open the smart object and check out it's dimensions and/or copy/pasting back into destination then recreating a smart object.

Hope that makes sense.

When in a transform of a smart object the option bar displays the current percentage values. You can set it back to 100% to get the original size back. This is also true when placing. You can also turn off the preference for resize image during paste/place in General preferences.

OMG! You are a genius! =))))))))))))

OK, since I got you here, and you know your stuff.....

last question, different topic...

Can I simply just right click a layer or group to UNLOCK it? Without having to go to the top of the layers palette to unlock? Usually when I have millions of layers within groups within groups... I have to either go to the menu or the menu of the layers palette and choose LOCK ALL, then use various check boxes to unlock all. This sucks!

The lock options are not selectable from the Layer context menu. If you have multiple layers selected, when you unlock one via Lock All it unlocks all the layers. You can also select a group and use Lock all dialog to unlock all the layers within the group. You can also drag any lock to the trash to unlock an individual layer (including a background layer).
