Subject: cursor doesn't match selected tool
This just started happening with my version of Adobe Photoshop CS2:

My cursor display does not match the selected tool. For instance, when I
select the magnifying glass, the cursor USED to look like a magnifying
glass, now it is just a hand. If I select the pencil, it STILL displays
as a hand.

What the heck happened?

Try deleting your prefs file as per the help instructions.
Start PS with the shift+alt+ctrl keys held down. It's a timimg thing, if you
get it right you will be asked (dialogue box) if you want to delete the
file, you do, a new will be created at start up.
