Unable to install PS7?

I purchased a new Dell XPS 630 with XP Pro SP3. I installed Premiere Pro CS3 (all parts), which works fine. I then tried to install my old PS7 and I can’t get it to load. I tried the disc in another machine with XP and it loaded right away. Any ideas why it won’t load on my new machine? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

try to copy the photoshop folder from the to the desktop and run the setup from there.

isn't much for us to go on. what happens? errors? hangups? checked the system logs? running as administrator? etc.

Check for data execution prevention and these things. With SP3, some of these sometimes get enabled if during install of the SP an unknown program signature is encountered. And of course check the usual - complete Windows Update (MS installer components), virus scanners, firewalls, other security tools...

Hi, Thanks for the help, sorry I left some information out. I tried coping the disc to the HD and running it there, but it does the same thing. When I go to load the program, the auto play screen "Welcome Adobe" comes up, I hit next and the installation screen comes up, then I hit install and the the disc spins up, and the hour glass comes up and it starts to load, and then nothing, it just stops? hangups? I'm logged in as administrator, I have all virus, firewall stuff turned off. XP is up to date. I checked the DEP and its set for Windows programs only. I've loaded other Adobe programs, Premiere Pro CS3, Acrobat, etc. I tried loading PS5, PS6, and PS7 and they all do the same thing? They all start to load and then they hangup. I've tried the discs in other machines with XP and they load up right away? It must be my machine right? Again, any help is greatly appreciated..thanks.

clean out your temp folders then try again. there might be remnants of another install in there that's confusing the ps setup...

may as well keep trying setup from the desktop folder. it's quicker than opening and closing the drive and waiting for autoplay.

you might also try installing in safe mode (f8 before the windows xp logo comes up)...

Yeah Hooo! Thanks a lot for the info Dave! I cleaned out my Temp files, re-saved the cd to the desktop, and loaded it up in safe mode, and it loaded right away! thank you very much! problem solved, awesome! thanks
