This is embarrassing but I need to know:

How EXACTLY does one use the styles pallette?

I am using the polygonal tool on a jpeg, then I want to fill in the space with a style but I simply do not know how.

Yes, I have read my photoshop online help over and over but I don't get it.

I would appreciate your help.

Thank you.

Open your JPEG.

Make a new layer.

Put your shape on it. Make sure you use the "Fill Pixels" option:

<http://imageshack.us>

Open the Styles Palette and click on the one you want. You can load or append more styles from the drop-down menu in the palette

You can also make your own effects by right clicking on the shape's layer in the Layers palette and choosing Blending Options. Experiment!
