I bought a Wacom 12WX tablet and it came with Elements 4.0 for Mac, just the CD, no book. Bought the Adobe User Guide at the used book store. It's for PC, and the tutorials don't match. Many differences. Learned there were two distinct versions. Just got Mark Galer's book from Amazon....PC again. Checked all the books on Amazon...they don't specify PC or Mac. Only way to tell is look up "Bridge" in index: not there, not Mac. Anybody know of a book for Elements 4 for Mac?
Thanks, Dave

"Photoshop" and "Photoshop Elements" are two entirely different programs — so not only do you need a book for "Photoshop Elements" … you also need the Elements' Forum:

Dayville,

What Ann said.

You missed this cautionary warning on the same page where you added this topic;

Note: please do not post Photoshop Elements questions here. Thanks!

Isn't Elements 4 from the dark ages?

do they even support it any more?

do people really still use it?

Buko,

Isn't Elements 4 from the dark ages?

Well, there was never an Elements 5 for Mac, just as there is no elements 7 for Mac. This means that Elements 6 is the current version for Mac, and Elements 4 is only one version behind.

I have an abysmally low opinion of Elements, any version.

Interestingly, the OP, Dayville, had posted in the correct Elements forum over a month ago, and never went back to check for replies. The resident Elements expert responded back then.

Elements 4 is from the dark ages. The current Mac version is 6 (current Win version is 7). Unfortunately many scanners still deliver with version 4 in the package.

Well it IS a freebie – and the scanner manufacturers possibly prefer to unload stuff that is wasting space in their warehouses by giving it away … instead of throwing it in the dumpster.

Buy Barbara Brundage's book at B&N.
She is also the resident expert at the forum. I use 4, have very few problems, but BB has answered them instantly.
