I'm finding surprisingly little on this topic here and Google. ALL users are using PS CS3 10.0.1 and the latest version of Font Reserve. Yet, one user gets the error "Photoshop text layers might need to be updated.." when he opens some files from two users who had text in the file. He tries to update and then gets a program error and PS quits. How can this be if everyone is using the same programs?

They're getting around this problem by removing the text (I guess adding it in Illustrator later on), but this is an odd problem that just started.

It could be corrupted or duplicate activated fonts. Does this happen if you swap out fonts with something else? Check the fonts and replace them if damaged. Delete or deactivate duplicate fonts.

After some research I believe that this problem is a duplicate font issue. When I experienced this problem I deleted all occurrences of the font from my operating system font book. So the only place I had my fonts was in a set in suitcase fusion. This for me solved the problem
