Hello group,

I wish to create a poster with at least the size A3 (420 mm x 594 mm)
to put a large number (~ 100) of photos on it.

In my Photoshop Elements 5 (German, I try to translate the commands
henceforth) I started with

Editor Tab > Create > Photolayout > Select size

The largest size I can see in the Dropdown box ist 300 mm x 300 mm
which is not sufficient for my purposes.

What's more: I can only select an array of at most 20x20 pictures,
which is by far too small.

Please help me find out if I can reach my goal with this software, and
if so, how.

Any advice is greatly apreciated.

Wolfgang

Thanks a lot for the fast reply with the links.
I'll try them out.

Best regards,

I do this occassionally. Not 200 images but the process would be the
same.

Be sure to edit and size the images first. Be realistic. 200 images at
30MB per image is way too big. Try to keep the total file size to
200MB or less.

I use WordPerfect 12. The newer X5 will do fine also. Word can also be
used but the results are not as good. Word simply is not the program
that WordPerfect is. I think that earlier versions of WP are OK but
there will be compatability issues with XP. Particularly with XP 64
bit.

Set up the paper size. There will be an option for setting a custom
paper dimensions. Be sure your printer will handle the paper size you
select. .

Set the borders.

Format a Table. Perhaps 10 columns and 20 Rows. There are options for
image placement in each cell. There is also a color option for the
borders lines. Choosing White will print the images without lines.
Setting up your poster in s Table with Cells will greately simplify
placement and all but prohibit timages from jumping in and out of
their placement.

Using Insert get the f\Files/Images from wherever they are.

After inserting all the 200 images go to Print.

When I do these posters I first edit all the images. Remember to size
the pictures. I use .tif files but .jpeg should do.

Print away.

Thanks Bob, for the hints.

but I don't have Wordperfect,
and I think I'll proceed with some collage program.

Best regards,
Wolfgang
