Anyone else get this? Usually after I've done some fairly intensive work in AI, it will just hang after closing, and has to be terminated in the task manager.
Happens to me every time I close AICS3 and a complicated file is still open. My solution is to close everything to an empty AI then close AI. In my experience, I don't expect any better solution any time soon.
Maybe we should do our own troubleshooting. I'm running a Quadro FX1100 video card. An OpenGL loving card. 2GB mem on a P4, Asus motherboard. Anyone else? (And lately, it doesn't have to be a complicated file I'm working on.)
I'm on a Dell tower, but was on a Polywell before that. I haven't looked under the hood. The two machines have (had) 2GB and 4GB RAM respectively, plenty of disk space, and the dell has a nVidia Gforce 7900 graphics card. Accessing files across the network, and also often containing links to files on the network.
I never know if Illy will close or hang, so I always close the file first, and Illy second. Interestingly, Illustrator did remember our new default file template, and also remembered new actions.
Though not conclusive; the 13.0.1 update seems to have fixed this problem for me. I would have to work with some of the large files at work first, then I'll see.
Nope, it only seems like it is fixed. After the update, I had a hang. The high end openGL-loving NVidia graphics card (I use a quadro FX1100) seems a suspect in these cases.

In both Photoshop and Illustrator (CS3) when I open or save a file, the program hangs temporarily. All of the tool palettes turn white and sometimes it says (Not Responding) in the taskbar. Also Illustrator doesn't close properly. I'm running Win XP.
