I have a background image in which i used a square clipping mask, Need delete the excess areas from the clipping mask, how do i do this?

Are you sure? Most of the time it is perfectly normal to keep the cropped image. It leaves the file more editable.

If you are sure, after saving the artwork to make sure if you should not have been sure, you may:

1. Set Transparency (in the palette) to something else than Normal,
2. Object>Flatten Transparency (with Raster/Vector Balance set to 100% Vector).

Flatten
Trim
Merge
Ungroup
then delete all uneede pieces.
