Graphs: commas in values and showing values

I am creating bar graphs with dollar values, and cannot figure out how to make the commas show. For example: $2,500 appears as $2500. It won't let me put the commas in the data because the bar will not show at all. Any ideas?
I also have pie charts and I want to show the values of the pie pieces. Is there a way to have Illustrator do this for me? Thanks!

You can just type the commas into your values after your graph is rendered.
