When: Saturday June 23-Sunday June 24
Where: Allegheny National Forest; near Warren, PA
The Plan: We will carpool from Rochester early Saturday morning in order to arrive mid-morning at the trailhead. The planned route will be approximately 9 miles spread over two days. Elevation gain will be well below 1000’ per day. This will be an ‘easy’ backpack (based on ADK classifications) and is a great opportunity for less experienced or new backpackers to get out and try their stuff. We will return to Rochester Sunday night.
This trail is described as being one of the prettiest in the Alleghany forest; with a mix of rock outcrops, massive boulders, and scenic streams with cascades. Depending on the group’s preference we might camp near the banks of the Allegheny reservoir. Swimming anyone?
