A heads up to the group:

The group from Redstone Content Solutions is putting on a live
webinar/training session on ADF Active Data Tues. May 21st. This topic
was one of the sessions from our little "ADF track" at COLLABORATE 13.
It's nice to see that they are opening the topic to a broader audience.

If you don't know what ADF Active Data is this will be a good
introduction - the Oracle documentation on Active Dat is also quite
good. (Here:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/web.1111/b31974/adv_ads.htm )

Here's the link:

[An aside, following another conversation from yesterday with a group
member - the active data / event driven model is what is driving some
projects/developers toward the use of Node.js for certain types of
"live" applications; ADF can do some similar things with the Active Data
Service. It's worth getting to know.]

hi Chad

Your comment "If you don't know what ADF Active Data is ..." reminded me of some Active Data Service (ADS) related things I recorded a while ago that can give an idea of what ADS can be about,
see http://screencast.com/t/qd9EmZi31G
or http://screencast.com/t/xtgNzh4K

But, note that at that time both came with a warning from Frank Nimphius :
- "ADF BC does not natively support ADF yet." in forum thread "ADF BC and the Active Data Service"
at https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=1028213
- "we don't recommend the ADS proxy client for ADF BC with ADF bindings yet." in forum thread "ADF BC and the Active Data Service using af:table"
at https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2197726

Chad,

Thanks for the plug!  The session at Collaborate was not very well attended, so hopefully this will work out a bit better.
