Subject: Re: Running ADF 11.1.1.2 applications on IE9

I would like to check what is the strategy you are adopting to run ADF
applications on IE9. We have a custom application developed using 11.1.1.2,
internal users are running the application on IE9 using comparability mode.
But we have problem in communicating the same to external users/partners.
I checked that note 1420818.1 before posting this. The note talks about
downloading the patch for Jdeveloper ot 11.1.1.5, it doesnt say any thing
about server ADR/JRF
Is there any Oracle recommended approach to this?

Appreciate your inputs on the same.
Thanks
Prasad

Step 6 of the note says download the patch and "6) click the "Read Me"
button and read the instructions".  This has the instructions for
patching your WLS server.  If you need further assistance please log
an SR with Oracle Support.  How to patch your server is beyond the
remit of this group.

Patch is simply enforcing the Compatibility mode (by setting the HTTP
header through a ADF Phase Listener).

We need a permanent fix for IE9!

Come on crew, you know better than this.  These sort of questions are
best answered either by Oracle Support or on the OTN Forums.  This
forum is for discussions on design, best practices, methodologies.
Yelling about fixes here wont get the response you want.

hi

This seems somewhat confusing, given forum thread
"ADF Faces is not supported on IE running in compatibility mode"
at https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2367063

What would be considered good/best practice, when choosing a
JDeveloper/ADF version, if your requirement is to be able to use your
application in Internet Explorer 9 ?

many thanks

Hi Jan

Can you start a separate thread please, this one is confused with
installation and viability of a patch relating to note 1420818.1.

Obviously the standard Oracle answer to your question about ADF
version vs IE9 will be to choose a certified/supported supported ADF
version from the certification matrix.  I'm guessing your question is
more specific than that and you want an answer to the current
confusion around compatibility vs native mode?  If yes please state
that in the new thread.

Thanks,

CM.
