Subject: Seeds available

I have had many requests to supply seeds.  I have resisted until now.
 However,
I have re-made the cross ‘Spindrift’ x ‘Desert Star’ and have some seeds
available.  This cross produced some outstanding seedlings,  including ‘Miss
Venezuela’ and ‘Pink Pearl’.   ‘Desert Star’ is also the parent of ‘Beauty
of Taiwan’ one of the most floriferous cultivars I know.

I have just done a germination test, I planted 20 seeds on paper and as you
can see 20 germinated.

These seeds will produce flowers similar to ‘Beauty of Taiwan’ at the
smallest possibly similar to ‘Miss Venezuela’ which is over 100 mm in
diameter.  Colour will mostly be similar to ‘Miss Venezuel’ but the
occasional pale one should occur as in ‘Pink Pearl’.

If you are interested please contact me privately.

P.S.  The germination plates show firstly the seeds with their seed coat
after just 4 days.  At that time I carefully take off the testa (seed coat)
as in  the second photo.  For your interest I am also attaching a photo of
(‘Daeng Siam’ x ‘Beayty Cloud II’) x my very dark swazicum #6.  Only a few
seeds were produced and I am now finding it better to germinate valuable
seeds on paper, hand remove the testa at around 4 to 5 days and then
transplant into boxes at 14 to 15 days.  With this method just about every
seed possible can be saved.

Hello David,
thank you for sharing  very interesting method.  I will try it next
time I'm sprouting adenium seeds.  The method is similar to sprouting
some rare citrus seeds, except there we do the pealing before soaking.
