I have never been a fan of star-shaped Adeniums.  Mr. Ko included a bonus cutting of 'Garden of Falling Star' with one of my orders.  When it flowered; I was rather under whelmed but now the plant is mature, it certainly makes an impressive specimen.

Mr Ko had produced some interesting progeny from it so I used it rather sparingly as a parent.  One of the crosses was with 'Desert Star'.  I recently showed 'Beauty of Taiwan' which is also a 'Desert Star' hybrid - note how floriferous it is.  This is 'Desert Star' which I presume is a white A. obesum as the pod parent and A. boehmianum  as the pollen parent:

This is what happened when I crossed 'Garden of Falling Star' (pod parent) with the pollen of 'Desert Star'.  With such parents the cross should be extremely floriferous.  I have made a small number of grafts from it but they have as yet proved disappointing being rather floppy, hopefully they will harden up as they get older.

I love the star shaped ones David – they have something whimsical about them to me which I find very attractive.
