Hi Everyone,

That was a good Adelaiderb last night.

Lets discuss presentations for March and beyond, we should have some
beginner and advanced talks each time.

I would personally like to see some 5 minute talks to "introduce" ideas,
then if those are popular the next month could have a much longer version.

Presentation offers:

Adam: Beginning Rails (Part 2) - A continuation of Michael's talk from
last night
Sebastian & Michael: Meta???? (forgot the name) vs Active Record
Extensions - Gems to make active record finder conditions easier
Michael: Bundler Bin Stubs - How to turn bundle exec something into
something the proper way (no aliases, etc.)
Robert: Into to RSpec - The popular testing framework

If you have a presentation to offer or request, please respond to this
mailing list along with which Month(s) you can present.

During the last meetup, there was some discussion regarding the use of
find vs. where in ActiveRecord. I was thinking I could do a beginner
talk about that and some other cool features of AR at some point.

I'm happy to do meta_where/squeel as well.

Neither of these have to be next month. I'm happy to do them whenever.

Best,
Sebastian

We were talking earlier this week about the myriad gems currently
available - what about a "Gem of the month" talk. Just 5 mins on a
cool gem?

Sounds like a good idea.
I think we can also have a Ruby/Rails/general_dev tip of the month
too!

Adam - can you do Rails part 2?
Michael - Bundler bin stubs for our advanced attendees?

Michael we've just moved and the office is still a mess - can we use Sealink?

We're running out of time this month. Would be good to get the event
up tonight or tomorrow.

Yes we can, it will be at SeaLink's new office (Just opposite of the old
one).
Daniel, can you bring the pizzas and a receipt and we'll pay you in
cash. We'll cover the soft drinks.

I'm ready. It's all up to Adam now.

Can anyone commit to April's Talks while we're at it.

What about April becomes "Testing" focused
* Robert, could you do that "intro to RSpec" talk in April?
* Anyone want to talk about Cucumber, Capybara, Jasmine, other cool
testing tools?

I *can* do the Presso! I was thinking of detailing the basic associations, and how they can be managed from web page to database.
