Hey there,

I’ve been trying to figure out how to script the install of AdBlock for Chrome.  I couldn’t find anything in my searching, or in the FAQ.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much,

Dave

Hi Dave,

Chrome itself has methods for automating the install of extensions; AdBlock would be installed using those methods.  They've changed how this works recently, I believe, and it varies per operating system; I don't know any docs to point you to.  You might ask in the chromium-...@chromium.org mailing list.

AdBlock opens a tab to getadblock.com/installed upon first run; if you wanted to avoid that, it would probably be simplest to fork the code (it's under the GPLv3).

Hope this helps,
Michael
