Hi list,

There is a "Check in" verb: http://wiki.activitystrea.ms/Checkin.

Would it be applicable to the use of the paradigm in a non-
geographical sense? e.g., Marginize lets users "Check in" at Web
sites, but you could also check in at a product (i.e., "express
interest" in the product), etc.
Or would a "Post" be better suited?

What about if I buy some app or album on iTunes/Ping, or some Facebook
credits on Facebook: have there been any thoughts on a "Buy"-like
verb?

Cheers,

Julien

Typically the meaning of a verb in a stream is contingent on the object it relates to — so you can mix and match any verbs and objects, but aggregators may not always know how to treat unfamiliar tuples, like "checking in" to a webpage.

You're more than welcome to pioneer that use case though!

It seems like "bought" or "purchased" is an obvious verb, but I'm not sure that there's many sites publishing those kinds of activities yet (maybe Blippy, Swipely, or Mint? Soon Square?). Please do start researching these kinds of activities on the wiki so we can explore the best way to represent this data!
