How to add new Service Type to Active Shipping?

We need to add SmartPost for FedEx. Looking at the FedEx documentation, it should be as simple as when you request rates, to set "SMART_POST" as the Service Type. So I added "SMART_POST" => "FedEx SmartPost" to ServiceTypes in the shipping/carriers/fedex.rb but nothing happened. No errors but no rates for SmartPost. I'm looking around on this group and Google but I can't find an example of adding a service type, so can if there someone who is familiar that can point me in a direction? Thanks!
