The 2012 ACRL/NEC Annual Conference on Friday, May 18 will offer a partnering program for library school students and library professional volunteers are needed to mentor a library school student on conference day.

Student are being matched based on their areas of interest and the student outreach committee is still looking for three librarian partners.

The purpose of this one-day partnership is to encourage library school students to attend the Annual Conference so that they can get to know more about the organization and the profession through this networking opportunity.  We are looking for librarians with at least two years of experience who are registered for the conference to volunteer to partner with a student for the day to welcome them and make sure they meet a few colleagues.  Planned activities might include meeting with other partners for breakfast, encouraging students to informally talk about why they chose librarianship and their plans for the future, and introducing the students to colleagues who might share similar interests.

Please contact Robin Maddalena at r.mad...@assumption.edu if you are interested in mentoring a student on conference day.

Remaining students are interested in networking with librarians in the following areas:  Archives, Records Management, Digital Libraries, Special Collections, Modern Languages (French, German, Spanish), also anyone with a PhD in the humanities out there?
