Summary:
This position will ensure the cataloging and discovery of materials in all formats.  Responsibilities include: performing copy and original cataloging; developing metadata workflows,  policies and best practices for collections and the digital institutional repository; coordinating library-wide efforts to optimize the library's catalog and access tools; exploring new initiatives and standards in cataloging and metadata in support of emerging discovery platforms and digital technologies; producing usage reports and statistics; writing scripts to enable automation of repetitive processes; providing training and documentation; coordinating daily work of library assistants; participating in reference service.

Requirements:
• Master’s degree from an ALA accredited program in Library & Information Science
• Experience using AACR2 and MARC format and the ability to integrate RDA rules
• Demonstrated knowledge of codes, metadata standards, and rules, including XML

Preferred:
• Minimum of 2 years of increasingly responsible professional experience in an academic library
• Experience using integrated library systems, preferably Innovative Interfaces (III)
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
