Subject: ACR Calibrator freezes
I am using the latest AcrCalibrator following the instructions in
Adobe Photoshop CS4 for Photographers by Martin Evening.

I am running Adobe CS4 64 Bit.

I have downloaded and extracted AcrCalibrator.

After the pen tool patch I go to File -> Script -> Browse

I select the AcrCalibrator in the folder where I extracted it and
click on Load

I get "Script Alert. ACR Calibrator needs to change your Photoshop
Preferences..."

I click on Yes

After a few flashes and actions performed I get

"Script Alert. Do not crop or rotate the raw file in ACR before
running the script".

I click on OK and then nothing happens

I get a blank "ACR Calibrator Status Window @ 100% (resultsText, RGB/
8*) * "

What am I doing wrong?

I am trying to calibrate a Hasselblad H3D 39 and am using a .3FR file
that is the RAW format that the Adobe Camera Raw Release Candidate can
open automatically

The same problem happened if I used the .DNG file created by the
Hasselblad software (Phocus) from the .3FR file

Thanks,

Antonio

Have you cropped or rotated the RAW file before running the script?

Can you post your .3FR file, somewhere, for others to try?  I have CS4EE
32-bit and I can try the same thing you're doing to see if it works.  If you
don't have your own website, use RapidShare.com to upload it, and then post
the link, here...which will be good for 10 downloads of the file.

I also don't know what the instructions are in the book you're reading, so
you might summarize them.  One thing that some books have gotten wrong is
the path order, which should be top-left , lower-left, lower-right,
top-right--a bit U shape.

Hi, thank you for your help.

All is well now.

It turns out that I did crop the image a bit. I was following the
book's instructions.

When I used the raw file without any cropping all worked perfectly
fine.

The book was written with the beta version of the script in mind, where the
suggestion was to crop the RAW to make the conversion faster.

The released version requires that no cropping be applied.
