Job description:
•
Administers and maintains internal and external servers to ensure
maximum
availability in a production environment.
• Provides hardware and software support as needed.
• Maintains computer system reliability and
coordinate upgrades and maintenance for all sites.
• Conducts performance tuning, backup and recovery
procedures, disaster recovery and system documentation
• Troubleshoots systems issues and coordinates
resolutions in a proactive manner.
• Monitors computer system capacity and utilization
and recommends appropriate upgrades as required
• Maintains UNIX operating systems patches and
upgrades as required.
• Coordinates and performs new server hardware
installations.
• Maintains a regular operating schedule including
system backups, job schedules, and operations alerts. SKILL SET
• Knowledge of techniques, programs, programming
languages,
and database environments, which may include: UNIX, Sun Solaris,
Veritas,
Sybase, Oracle, Perl, Shell Scripting, Network Troubleshooting, DNS,
Korn
Shell, Network TUNING, IBM AIX
Ensuring that every host identified for migration
to VMAX is ready from a SAN stack perspective
These resources will need to participate in any
firmware updates and checkout activities
Responsible for all server based activities for the
actual data migration to VMAX using PPME technology
