Do you want to see the one that is installed on your machine? Type "which ack-grep" and there is the program.

If you want to see the full code repository, it's at https://github.com/petdance/ack

Please note that the program is called "ack", but the people who created the package that you installed from chose to call it "ack" instead.

You can run "ack-grep --man" and get the full manual page. There is a list of Frequently Asked Questions in there as well.

Saying another way ...

Since ack is implemented in the Perl scripting language, the Debian/Ubuntu package confusingly called 'ack-grep'  (since 'ack' was already taken in their namespace) is also the source package.

A direct link to ack 's home is http://betterthangrep.com

Source code is also available on http://cpan.org which is distribution source for any system with a Perl installed, perfect for end-user installs. http://search.cpan.org/dist/ack
