Subject: Taiji Quan (Tai Chi Chuan) Drop-in Exercises and Classes
http://www.acchs.edu/taijiprogram.htm

Open to the public.
Some call it a form of moving meditation. When an individual focuses
the mind solely on the movements and form, it brings about a state of
mental calm and clarity. Besides general health benefits and stress
management, Taiji is a great way to center yourself.

The Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences is offering
introductory lessons in Taiji and Qi Gong. Our instructors focus on
basic movements that help develop whole body awareness and connection.
You’ll learn relatively simple exercises, motions that highlight key
Taiji principles and that lay the foundations for a lifelong vitality-
enhancing experience. Taught in a friendly, supportive environment,
the class is perfect for day to day stress! It includes a 5 element Qi
Gong set, a Taiji sequence, meditation, and lots of fun exploratory
movement.

Anyone Can Join the Taiji Classes Any Time!
You don’t have to sign-up or register. Drop by any time. The classes
are held:

Mondays (weekly) 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
The current 15-week session runs from 5/5/2008 - 08/11/2008 Room 101
(First room when you walk in).

Cost:
$20 per class ($90 for a 5-pack, which can be used on any Monday
during the 15- week session). Wear comfortable clothing and flat-soled
shoes! (Students discuss discounted packages with Andres)

About the instructors:
Joe Davis began practicing martial arts as a youth, eventually
gravitating towards Chinese Internal Arts of Tai Ji, Xing Yi, and Ba
Gua Zhang. He has trained in the Yang, Chen, Wu, and Chen Pan Ling
traditions of Tai Ji Quan. Additionally, he has studied Qi Gong for
health alignment and energy cultivation for a decade.

Jason Frye has been practicing and teaching Taiji for many years. Like
Joe, Jason has extensive practice in the many forms of Taiji, always
studying Qi Gong with many Bay Area masters.
