As far as I know, the main software accessibility issue for deaf
people is that some programs give information to the user via sound
alone. Usually this is in the case of error beeps - clicking where you
aren't supposed to, for example.
This is similar, accessibility-wise, to when websites convey
information via color alone - for example, in a list of items, making
the urgent ones red but otherwise identical to the other items.
From what I understand, usually neither of these issues is
make-or-break in terms of usability, but both are really obnoxious
especially considering how easy it is to flash the screen or throw in
a 1x1 pixel image with some alt text and fix the problem for everyone.
