Hi Jean

As I told Cleo I live in Denmark. 15 km from copenhagen. Yes I am sure you
also had a very HOT summer in Sweden, like we had in Denmark.

Furthermore I can tell that the area I know best in Sweden is around
Bohus, Allingsås, Älvängen and from there touring to Stenungesund,
Tjörn and Orust. Have also seen the pictures on the cliffs in Bohuslen.
And the maze in Gräbbestad - because of interest in archeologi.

My very best friend since we were 11 and 10 years old live in Nödinge near
Göteborg. She and her housband have a "summerhouse" 15 km
from Trollhättan.

Therefore I know all this area.Whereas one of my brothers and his wife
are every summer going to places far north. Driving theire car with a
canoe on the top.

Hälsning Ruth

Yes you are right - it has been bitterly cold the last days. and we also can
have snow in winter. We get some snow almost every winter, but because
we are a coastland, we never know wether the winter vill be long or short,
wether it will be mild or very hard.

With our climate it can be anything.

My friends who live up there are both Danes. But have now lived in the area
more than 25 years.

They moved from Denmark because he could got a job at - ohhmm do you have an
English name for it - "Götaværket"? He worked with something tecnically.

As an interest or hobby he took the certificate to fly small planes for 4 or
6 persons, so we have been flying over the islands Tjörn and Orust plus all
the others smaller islands around them. I took archeologically pictures,
when we were circling over Tjörn.

All for now

Then you must like it VERY much.

I was just going to ask whether you have ever been on top of some cliffs
at Tjörn where there is a very fine - hm "röse" is it called in danish. It
is
a sort of grave from maybe 1000 years before christ. And this one is called
Kuballe Wette. (Or Wätte)

I have seen a place with quite a lot of röses maybe 50 km south og
Gothenborg. They were all disturbed and damaged. It just looked like big
heaps of stones. But the Kuballe Wette was precisely round and builded
vertical up to ca. 1,2 m. Then they had let the rest be a big round top.
Actually I found it fantastic that they could do that in raw stones and
without
any binding material. Some of it was destroyed but you could see how fine it
had been originally.

If you ever have seen it, I just wanted to ask of you think there are others
of the same type anywhere in Sweden.

Ruth

Maybe I can

> get my grandson interested when he is old enough.

You can make him interested by taking him round to for instance all
those exciting things one can see at Tjörn.

Then  can go on the digs.

I hope you can make him interested.

> Götaverkan I suppose you could call it Götaworks, Göta is a girls name.

There are so many things from prehistoric time to see at Tjörn. I found a

It was a Swedish book. I had it with me when I went to Bohus on
summerholydays. And we found so many many interesting places to
visit through that book.

There

> are quite a few stenröse in Sweden many on Gotland.

Interesting to hear. I wonder who were the people who builded them at
Gotland.

>Dont know exactly where

Thank you - it could be just sometime in the future. I don't think I
will go to Bohus untill June next year.

>Rain mixed with snow here today  yuk.

I wonder when we will see a little bit of snow here. The last 3 evenings
they have been talking about in the weather rapports, saying  there is risk
of snow tomorrow. It was raining heavily here yesterday, but right now the
sun is shining VERY brightly.

And the wind is very cold.

That question mekes me remember that you are livng in Australia.

May I answear your question with a little song:

Snow, snow wonderful delicate white
millions of downs so softly
dancing, playing, whirling, falling, sinking
over fields, forests and lakes
over all the roofs in town
over every little house
snow, snow wonderful snow.

Snow, snow wonderful delicate white
all the withered you softly hide
covering mildly what looks scaring
make for Christmas the world so fine.
Snow, snow wonderful snow.

Maybe it could be translated a little better, but ...

Happy sunday morning.
