never to be released under any circumstances. Do we think this is a good

What about the argument that is put forward in respect that 'lifers' would
have nothing to gain by being well-behaved in prison, and that, as a
consequence, they would be extremely dangerous to the prison service who
look after them? That is to say, everyone must have some hope that they will
get out some day, in order for them to act responsibily whilst incarcerated.

Yes, well your subjects sounded sort of Tullish....Life's a Long Song and Bungle (ie "Rumble") in
the Jungle.
Aqualung is up there, without a doubt...I am somehow partial to Thick as a Brick as their best,
though. It is a masterpiece.
I wonder if Ian Anderson still stands on one leg while playing the flute?

Ha, probably not....he is still doing odd gigs now and again....he was doing
a local music festival down here a month ago. It was funny, there were all
these local gigs and events, charging a small entrance fee, and you had to
cough up about £20 quid to see him do a solo acoustic set. That said, I
would have gone anyway if I had been able to. "Thick As A Brick"........yes,
I dig that out to play sometimes....a nice album. I think the only early
album of theirs that I haven't got is "Stand Up". "Benefit" is unique and
marvellous.

Yes, I agree. I bought "Stand Up". It was very cool. There was a cardboard cut-out of the band
that 'stood up' when the album was opened up. I remember seeing them right after TAAB came out. I
was blown away by that concert.
Well, really, back then I was prolly 'blown away' before I got there...<sheesh>
BTW, you got me diggin' out TAAB right now.

Yes, I'm afraid I now collect the old vinyl albums that I always wanted when
I was a kid. I'm not saying that I have stacks of them, because I see no
point in owning music you really don't listen to much. I sometimes will buy
an LP off e-bay, get it sent to me, listen to it, find out I don't like it,
and promptly sell it again. You know I've been trying to get a copy of
"Electric Ladyland" by Jimi Hendrix, but they want ridiculous money for a
good copy, sometimes up to around £100. I put in a bid for John Mayall's
Bluesbreakers album the other day (the one with Eric Clapton reading the
"Beano" on the front. I thought £39 quid should do it. Damn me if it didn't
finish up at £55. That's more than the book price for that album, but, as I
say, a good copy of certain albums fetches crazy prices.

I only have a few vinyls anymore. They are my husband's old albums. All of mine got stolen when I
was not very old and I had some very cool albums that definitely couldn't be found again.
(Captain Beyond - with a 3D picture on the front or a very colorful vinyl Dave Mason "Alone
Together" among others)
An old acquaintance of mine had one of the first Beatles' prints of "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow".
That's the only time I had seen it. The "newer" paper had been peeled off to reveal a different
picture underneath. I don't really remember it much except the Fab Four were all wearing butcher
aprons and I think there was fake blood and baby dolls. This was put together in a framed glass and
kept well. I remember him saying he was offered a few thousand dollars for it (that was back in
'85). I just bet he could get ALOT more than that now, but I remember him as a collector so I
suspect he has held onto it all these years.
Speaking of Hendrix...(my fave is "Axis...") I even choose all my PC/network/secure site passwords
to be Hendrix tunes.
