This is with respect to the "Abuse of Power" webpage:
http://www.angelfire.com/md/imsystem/sibabuse.html
You now have, and you are going to have, different measures of power, e.g., in your family and in your present and future social and professional capacities, and so on - How will you use them? -
Would you help a friend abuse his or her powers? -
Would you help your boss abuse his or her powers? (Remember all the professionals in Germany during the 2nd World War that built the gas chambers to kill all the "people of inferior races" - Should they have refused the orders from their bosses?) - What do YOU think?
Do the people who abuse their powers make life miserable for everyone else?
(At the present time? - Throughout history?)
I'd like to begin this discussion with any of the following three items:
1. A proposal: The two *most* important moral values any child (anywhere in the world) should be taught are, (a) a lifelong love of learning, and, (b) a loathing for the abuse of power. Do you agree or not? And why yes or why not?
2. Is this the *best* definition of abuse of power? If not, what are better one(s) and why are they better? - If yes, why are other definitions not as good?
3. Would YOUR life be better (more enjoyable) if more people knew this [or any other] definition of abuse of power? If yes, why? Or if not, why not?
Of course, you are welcome to propose additional topics.
With my best wishes,
The Moderator
