Fleche

The Fleche is on the schedule for May 11/12. The ride will start at 9am on Saturday 11 and end 24 hours later at 9am in Sylvan Lake.

So far I am pretty sure that one team from Calgary (3 riders so far) can be formed. We will do the event only if there is a second team.

Please use this post to indicated your attendance/interest to participate.

Bill B. will be the contact person for this event, however, the team finding and matching can happen with the help of this blog.

Hi all,

 

Unfortunately, I will not be able to ride the fleche, as I have a recently reset family event on May 11. I do not think we had enough interest from Edmonton either - per last contact emails.

 

I do need the fleche for my Randonneur 5000, if I am to use PBP 2011. I now plan to use the 4 year window of 2011-2014 for this award, so my final chance to get the fleche and 1000 in is going to be the 2014 season.

 

If the ACP plan is the same as in the past, they will ask 2015 PBP interested riders to complete a Super Series in both 2014 and 2015. Thus, I feel 2014 will be a bigger interest year for the club re. the Fleche as part of training for the super series. And perhaps, the 1000 as a trial multiday event for PBP 2015.

 

So, I hope to see some out for the Warburg 200 (April 20), the Blue Ridge 300 (May 4), and the back to back MM 200 (Banff) and JAMM 200 (Jasper) on July 13 and 14. These are all the rides I will be able to fit in this year.
