Hi all,

 

Is anyone seriously planning on riding the club`s fleche on May 11-12. I need the ride for the ACP Randonneur 5000, with my window running out in 2013 if I wish to use my 2010 rides. We need a min of two teams with three finishers per team.

 

Also, is anyone planning the 1000 on July 5-7. I also need this ride.

 

If there is no interest in our fleche, I plan to ride the BC one on May 4-5, 2013.

At  the 2012 AR AGM my name was suggested as ride coordinator for the 2013 AR Fleche.  Duty calls.  I met with Peter on February 16th to discuss that task and other topics of personal interest between us.   I will be down south for the month of March, but we can start a discussion specific to the Fleche a month before the event.

The last time, there were no teams from Edmonton.  So I propose a few ideas to be considered to assure AR has enough participation for an official event.  There will be participation from the south, Calgary / Medicine Hat.

> Jeff, arrange a team and train enough to assure success, the event is early in the AR calendar of rides.

> Encourage other riders to form teams from the Edmonton area.

> Hope we don't wake up to a province wide blizzard on May 11th.

There is no reason the AR Fleche cannot be an official event for your awards goals.

I had preliminary interest in the Fleche, but will now be on a sailing trip on the west coast during that time, so I’m out.

 

Am planning on 200-300-400-600 using the Edmonton Region series as per AB Rando schedule posted on web.

Hi Jeff,

I am planning to ride the Fleche. Hope we can find two more riders from Calgary to form a team.

Bill will be the administrator of the ride; we have to submit the brevet card etc to him by his deadline. Finish is Sylvan Lake, 9am on Sunday May 12; start is at least 360km away exactly 24 hours before.

 

With regards to the 1000km, I really want to ride it as well and have marked it in my calendar.
