I am so excited to let you know that there will be even more parent activities at the Closing the Gap conference this year than ever before, thanks to the support of a small army of volunteers, Closing the Gap and the AAC Institute.

Starting on thursday, there is a presentation at 8 am to help parents new to CTG get the most out of their conference experience.   That evening, families can meet at the pool for a chance to get to know each other.

On friday and saturday, Atrium 8 is reserved for a parent lounge.  during the days, there have been several parent activities scheduled, (see attached document) but the room will also be open as a quiet place for families to re-group and meet each other.

If you are coming to CTG, bring your child's IEP. Check for the presentation "Extreme Makeover: IEP Edition" by Carolyn Musselwhite and me on friday morning.   In addition to this presentation, one of the activities scheduled  for the parents lounge is a change to talk over your child's IEP goals and get some advice on tweaking them to more clearly reflect your  goals and dreams for your child.

On Firday night, parents can meet in the parent lounge for annother change to connect with each other.

On saturday morning, there will once again be a scavenger hunt in the exhibit hall.  Be sure to thank all of the participaing vendors for their support.

Details of all of these events are in the attached flyer.   Or, just stop at the AAC Institute booth in the exhibit hall to say hi and get all the details!

I hope to see many of you there:)
