I don't really mind her report card, 4 Bs and a C-. That is all
regular classes, except language, which she is working really really
hard at.

Goal: Kendra will use her aug. device to repair communication
breakdowns in the classroom and speech room 6/10 times. IEP progress
report: and I quote " Minimal progress- She does not like to use the
Eco in the classroom. She tries to communicate verbally. She will
then give clues to try to get her meaning across. In the speech room,
she has used the Eco one time. " On the goal that says she will
express her needs and participate in classroom discussions, using
verbal, gestural, and aug. forms of expression, it says "She does not
use her Eco very often."

Would I be wrong, in suggesting to EVERYONE, including the SLP, that
hey, you might want to suggest to her that she just use her Eco,
rather than playing 20 questions every time? She knows Minspeak, so
well that if I can't understand something at home, i ask her, what
sequence or what icon is the word under, and she answers me and I
figure out the word.

If they said, could you show me the word on your Eco, even if she
didn't know where it was, she could jump to her spell page, and use
word prediction well enough to tell them the word.

I have a conference with them next Friday. What do you think? I am
not asking them to do or learn anything on the Eco, other than use
Notebooks, which they seem to be getting the hang of. Is asking them
to suggest she use it, too much?
