Cranksgiving, the annual race to benefit Food Gatherers of
Washtenaw County, is a go! Starting and finishing in the
Busch's parking lot, you'll have two hours to ride to area
grocery stores to buy food to donate to Food Gatherers.

On the latest one (Funniest p0rn video cuts), this one also came to
the Friends of the Border To Border Trail Google group, but Google
recognized it as spam and sent a letter to the moderator (me) for
screening. I clicked the box that indicated it was spam and not only
was the message deleted, but the person was reported to Google as a

It doesn't seem like a big issue to me - yet anyway. I'd like to hear
from our list moderator as to how much work is involved in deleting
the occasional spam vs the effort to review posts and approve new
members. Perhaps the strength of the spam filters can be turned up at
Google.

I'd recommend moderating the distribution as well. For the MMBA-Poto Yahoo
group distribution I approve new members and all posts except those from
club leaders. I'm not familiar with google, but I'd expect they should have
similar capabilities.

With the latest "Paris Hilton" message on this forum, I would say time has come that people have to request to join the group. Another option would be to convert to a Yahoo discussion group where people have to actually type a sentence or two telling why they want to join.

Wow. Fascinating subject.
First, I've ridden pretty much every part of M52 from the State Line to
around Stockbridge, MI and even some sections well North of there.

That said the only horrible part of it is between Manchester and Chelsea,
which is.... Sharon township.

All other sections are well paved and have anywhere from sufficient shoulder

The Washtenaw Bicycling and Walking Coalition recently received an email from a Sharon Township resident saying that the Township Trustees there voted down an offer to pave the shoulders along M-52, even though it was at no cost to the Township. Apparently there seems to be some bias towards cyclists and wider road shoulders on MY-52 may also have been characterized as "bike lanes".
