Students are becoming more in debt than ever. Soldiers are coming back
to school, to cut VA benefits, and a horrible job market. Money is being
cut left and right from social programs that fund education, jobs and
health care and the money goes directly to the war effort. The Bush
Administration and Congress won't withdraw all US forces to end the war.
In fact, President Bush wants $50 Billion more this week for the troop
"surge" that, in reality has only surged violence in Iraq to higher
levels and added more fuel to the civil war that the US occupation
fomented. It's time to build a network of all the students across the NY
state region at every college, at every high school to coordinate a
grassroots protest movement--the kind of movement that can serve as an
example and give confidence to others that are outraged.
The Campus Antiwar Network aims to do this by amplifying the voice of
students and soldiers on campuses and in our communities by building a
grassroots protest movement. In order to raise the level of confidence
of students and soldiers who are in the Antiwar Majority, we must
organize and coordinate together with our fellow students across the
region, with our brothers and sisters in Iraq Veterans Against the War.
If we can combine forces and build pressure from below, we can build the
foundation across NY state needed to end the war.
Join the contingent and march with students and the soldiers of Iraq
Veterans Against the War (IVAW) from across the state.
Schedule of Events: http://www.upstateantiwar.net/resources.html
CAMPUS ANTIWAR NETWORK:
Post-march ALL students are invited to a STATEWIDE STUDENT NETWORKING
MEETING: All students, all student groups working to end the war!
Protest! Organize! Let's begin to knit together a grassroots network of
student antiwar groups that can build pressure from below. If you are
part of an already existing social justice group or antiwar group on
your campus join this networking meeting. Building student power
requires that we organize and coordinate our movement together. Hosted
by Campus Antiwar Network with the goal of uniting students around a
common strategy to end the war by demanding that troops come home now!
TIME/PLACE: 6:00 - 7:00 PM
