I've heard Firefox makes some good money through the (Google) search
options it provides (homepage, search box,...) [link:http://
blogs.zdnet.com/BTL/?p=6715]. Today I came across this green website
[http://friendsgreen.com/] that is merely a skin atop Google
(currently Yahoo!) and which claims to give the proceeds from your
searches to green causes.

So I wonder if YubNub could benefit from a similar setup in search
commands such as g, y, or am. My thinking is there's a lot of search
money out there that could be rightfully claimed and I would love for
it to go to Jon, YubNub, and YubNub's further development.

What do you think?

It's an interesting idea. It seems like the search results would have
to be on a Yubnub page for it to work, instead of just redirecting to
a Google or Yahoo search.

Brian, why do you think redirections won't be enough?

I've been thinking about this some more and it makes a lot of sense
for all parties involved. Command aggregators are the next software
abstraction step (witness Quicksilver, YubNub, Enso, Wundrbar) and
with affiliate programs they may even have a sensible revenue model!

Actually I think I misunderstood how friendsgreen.com works.
Disregard my comment.
