Monk:

“Monk” is a comedy show. It’s about a detective called Monk. there will be different cases in every episode. He got an assistant called Natalie. I watch

it on Monday night in Pearl. There’s about 16 series in Monk. I’m interested in this show at first because I love detective shows and I think it would be just

some guy doing some research or stuff like that; but after I watch a few episode, I found the story is very interesting and it’s quite funny sometimes when

Monk did some crazy and silly things which I love and expected. And every time after I finished my dinner, I can watch it, it have a quite good timing.

I watch Monk in the television. Monk have Mysophobia (fear of germs) and every time there’s a case happened, Monk will bring his assistant so that if

there’s any dirty job or something like that, he will let her do, and Monk have to go to the Psychiatrist every time he got problem. Monk don;t like to shake

hands with people also because of Mysophobia, every time Monk have trouble, the theme song also playing at the same time or other song so it will be

more exciting.

I think it is a good show, because the story is very good and make people want to keep watching, I would like to watch more of that! I love it when

Monk figured out some small details that people will never notice and get the case solved. This show is obviously appropriate for any ages, although

there’s dead body, but they will never show. Except the cases that each episode show, there’s also a mysterious story behind Monk’s wife’s death. It was

so excited on the last episode (but I missed it because of the project week) that Monk found out who is the one who killed his wife.

For the realism of the show, I found out that Monk and people in the show never went to the toilet or take shower (except there’s a crime about that)

and they hardly get sick, but I don’t think they’d show even they are. But I believe all the actors are real person but not models or pin -ups.

I pasted my program report into a Google Document since it's literally quite long (1380 words).

My TV program response

 Stage 1:

During term break I watched Pretty Little Liars’s season two episode 25 (Last episode).  Pretty little liars is a drama kind of TV show. I watched this episode on the internet myself. The episode is basically about the four girls uncover the identity of ‘A’ at a masquerade party. The four girls (Hanna, Spencer, Emily and Aria) were invited to a masquerade party, along with Mona (Hanna’s best friend). Before that, a girls got a message from ‘A’. ‘A’ told them to move into the lostwoods hotel, so the four girls went there and hoping to find some clues for the death of Alison. The resort was very spooky, so the girls got out the next day. In the masquerade party, Hanna, Emily and Aria were just hanging out and Mona told Spencer to go with her because she found who’s A. Mona brought Spencer into a room full of drawings and Mona told her that the ‘A’ went to the masquerade party too wearing the black swan dress in the drawings. When Spencer called Hanna about it, Hanna told her to leave the room because Mona was the black swan, when Spencer tried to leave, Mona pulled her into a car and drove her to the cliff, the other 3 girls drove their car and tried to save Spencer. Mona tried to kill Spencer and push her off the cliff but Spencer pushed her away and Mona fell down the cliff. Hanna was crying so hard because she thought Mona was her real friend.

Stage 2:

Loads of my friends recommend me to watch pretty little liars, they said it’s a really popular TV program. Overall it’s about 4 girls trying to find out who killed their best friend Alison. The four girls has really ugly secrets, Aria is dating her own English teacher, Hanna’s mom stole money from an old woman, Emily wrote a fake scholarship to her mom and Spencer stole a ring from her sister. The storyline is very interesting, and sometimes scary. It’ll make you want to watch more and more. Sometimes I end up watching 3-4 episodes a day!

Stage 3:

I think it’s a really good show,  it’s sometimes scary but entertaining. The actors are really good, sometimes you can learn a lesson from it too. The show is appropriate for my age and other teenagers too. When I first watched season 1 episode 1, I liked it a lot. I think the whole story is very mysterious and you’re always trying to find out who’s A. But ofcourse there are a LITTLE swear words, just a little not a lot, I think teenagers can handle it too. I would continue to watch more and more.

Stage 4:

The characters are full of emotions, and they are quite real. They have different emotions in different scenes, like Emily. She is always a happy girl until she got kicked from the swimming team. She was really sad and cried everyday. Their emotions are quite predictable.

Medium is an American television drama series that premiered on January 3, 2005. Allison Dubois, wife of  Joe Dubois, can talk to dead people. She helps the FBI and cops for their investigation, which she became a celebrity after many cases are closed. She maybe rich and have three daughters, but her life is also dangerous. Since she can solve many cases, people would want her to help to find out the only truth which police can't help. She ones was kidnapped at the airport. The victim's husband forced her to observe the things that belonged to the victim named Eleanor with a handgun pointing at her. He thinks that Allison can dream of the crime scene which he put sleeping pills into the water he gave her. Allison woke up the other morning and she knew who is the murder. However, she was stuck in the bed with the handcuffs. Luckily, moments after the mailman came and heard her yelling for help. He ran in and got her out.

At the lasst episode, it was shown that the plane from Hawaii back to her house crashed. Her husband Joe was in it, and he couldn't make it. Seven years later, she had a dream. She dreamt that his husband was alive, and was in Mexico. He couldn't remember a thing, which causes big trouble. He apologies for confusing her in the dream, which actually her wanted to let her know in the dream that even he wasn't here, she could have a wonderful life.

Walking Dead is a show that talks about a few people surviving a disease which brings people back when they are dead but when they are back they only want food (the living). If you are bitten by one of the Walkers (infected people) you will die in a matter of hours and come back to a walker. There are not many characters because it is a film about surviving and there is only a small group of people. I think it is different from the common apocalypse stories because its more based on drama then action like the main character Rick always have to make decisions, but there are always people who disagree and he gets blame for every decision because there is always someone who disagrees and think a different way, but even that he still keep the group running and leading the group to survival, organizing the food and finding shelter.

The story started with Rick and his partner Shane sitting in a police car in there police uniforms having there lunch in a town near Atlantic City. They got a call that there was some robbers escaping to there town form another state and in the process Rick was shot and fell in a coma and when he woke up he found the hospital empty and trashed. After a while he found his family missing and started a journey to find them first by traveling to Atlantic city. When he went to Atlantic City he found it full with walkers (infected people). and hid in a tank it is then that someone talked in the walkie talkie.

Doctor Who(Stage 1)

Doctor Who is a science-fiction drama series that is about a time lord who travels through time and space in the “Tardis”, a telephone booth, and fights off evil aliens who are destroying the universe.  It airs on BBC at prime time, around 7-8PM on Saturday night, in UK. Sadly it does not air in Hong Kong. There are at least 30ish seasons and has been on air since 1963 but it was discontinued for a decade before it was rebooted. Each season has around 15 episodes. Doctor Who is for people who enjoy sci-fi fantasy adventures because it features a wide variety of extra-terrestrial aliens. I decided to watch this show because it is action pack, filled with suspense in every scene because The Doctor has to face numerous creative, dangerous and scary aliens. These aliens usually have special abilities whether it’s turning you into a zombie or sending you back in time when they touch you. You will always a sense of excitement and suspense because you never know what will happen next. I recommend this show to anyone who is interested in science fiction and also people who are longing for a good action-packed TV series.
