Post your reflections in here:  5-6 sentences on your preparation, & your contribution.  Give a grade out of 4.  Also discuss your group as a whole.  No need to mention names of people.  How did other group mates contribute?  Did all members contribute equally?  Give your group a collective grade out of 4.

Group: Aaron(Discussion Director) Kevin (Illuminator) Hoi Man (Word watcher) Marion (Illustrator)

My grade: 3/4
I think that i did ok this time. I have been well prepared for this lesson, i got my drawing don and thought up of different questions that i could ask to my group mates. I was able to have my group mates to discuss on what they think of their image of the community.

My group's grade: 3/4
I think that we did quite a good job overall. We were all discussing together, everyone contributed and everyone has given their opinion on every questions. We all contributed equally but Aaron led the most through the discussions.

  My Grade: 2/4

I think that I'm not prepare much because it is hard to find out the important sentences of chapter 1 to 3 and I am not talk a lot in the lit circle group.

Group Grade: 3/4

I think that our group doing normal because our group discussion director didn't prepare anything, so it makes harder to discuss.

Lit. Circle (December 19th)
Group: Ian (Discussion Director), Ray (Illuminator), Ingrid (Illustrator), Helen (Word Watcher),
I think that I did quite well for the Literature Circle since it is my first time doing it. I would give myself a 3. Before Wednesday, I have made questions to discuss and found important quotes in the story which were good for group discussion. Our group was good for most part of the time. I think that there was one time where our group was a little bit off task because we were so excited. Other group mates' contribution were all good, although one barely prepared anything. I would also give my group a 3 out of 4.

My Grade 3/4
I think I did well on preparing, but I think there is still some improvements can be done
for example I can write which page is the quote so that I can find it easy and I think I should ll highlight the quote.

My group grade 3/4
I think my group did overall quite well in this lit circle, we have a order one by one, and everyone in our group had a equal time to speak. But I think we can discuss more and discuss deeper. And some of us can think of more questions.

We also have an additional temporary member, whom I would not name because Mr. Copus said we couldn't. That person was from another circle, but there was a student in that group who was absent, so that person came to our circle, causing us to have 2 Word Watchers.

To be honest, that person was more prepared than our Word Watcher, and came in with a list of questions and answers. All of us did. That was a point why my group deserves more than a passing mark. Unfortunately, there were some persons who didn't contribute as much as the rest of us did, so that made my marking less high. There was even one who came in with really little preparation, which pulled down the marking even lower. But one point that made my marking increase greatly was that EVERYONE contributed in the answering part. Everyone has different ideas and perspectives to a statement or question, so it made our lit circle a lot more interesting and we can piggyback on each other's suggestions, comments and opinions. And except for the "some persons" who didn't come in with enough preparation, the rest of us did with a lot and even more than enough preparation. It was a fun lit circle.
I was also quite prepared. We Illustrators each got a job within that  job (meaning we separated the illustrating work into different sub-works) and each of us were responsible of something to draw. For example, I had tod draw 5 small pictures of the 4 chapters; Melody has to draw a big picture representing the whole 4 chapters; Athena was in charge of doing mind maps of the characters mentioned and Nicole was in charge of doing bigger graphs and mind maps of the rules and assignments mentioned. Later on, we combined all of our work and let Nicole photo-copy it, letting everyone get a version of everyone else's work. Personally, I don't really appreciate my drawings (the fingers are like toothpicks!) but I did my part, and also help decorate Nicole's mind map with Melody. I might give myself a 2/4... if it must be out of 4. It's more like 68/100.
I'm really not sure what mark to give my group, though. I might give 73/100 or so, because most of us were prepared with questions and all of us contributed to answer. Since 73/100 is the closest to 3/4, I guess that'll be my mark for my group.

 Lit circle (December 20st)
Group: Ian (Discussion Director), Alex (discussion director 2) Kary (Illuminator), Anson (Word Watcher), Melody (Illustrator)
I think I did quite good today. We discussed some questions we made and talked about the book. I prepared for this lesson and I thought of the themes and what we could discuss in the lit circle activity. But I think I still have improvements for my questions since my questions didn't make my group mates thoroughly. My group also did well and we looked at what all our group mates prepared and discuss through it. I think our best group mate is the illustrator because she have the most questions and also have great questions to make good discussion.
My group's score: 3/4

Group Grade:
To be honest, I think that our group did average. Everyone did contribute and was prepared but there was this one specific person who you could say was prepared but in my preference not really. This specific "person" has kind of tore the grade that im giving to my group a bit lower. I give my group a 2/4.

My grade:
I think that I did ok, I mean I was prepared since when we were put into groups of our jobs (if that makes sense), the people who in my group (Nicole, Natalie, Melody and me) were responsible for different jobs within our group. I think that I talked the most cause I answer questions when the DD asks us to, whereas some "persons" didn't exactly contribute that much to the group. Oh well. I give myself a 3/4.

Lit Circle Reflection(December 19th)

Group: Jerry Wong (Discussion Director), Milton (Illuminator), Natalie (Illustrator), Sylvester (Word Watcher) + Zike (Word Watcher)

Mark for myself : 3/4
Reason: I think that this mark is appropriate for me because I did the job of being a Discussion Director which is leading the group to talk, however, some members did not talk that much, maybe I need to be more active to talk to those people to lure them to talk. Also, I have fully prepared myself with different questions that are related to the story. One of the big theme is about social control and I asked my group mates to compare this to some of the countries around the world. This help us know that how the modern society is linked with this book.

Mark for group: 2.5/4
Reason: I have a quite active group with me because the group mates can answer my questions and extend it. However, some of the people did not work well like other people for example they did not do their own work well by not finding out the meaning of those special words but they still guess and tried. This maybe a good symptom that my group is improving. The illuminator and illustrator both did a good job on extending the discussion. The illuminator uses parts of the story to link to the facts. The illustrator have used multiple drawing graphs to show the complex social structure in the story, for example the family tree of Jonas and Jobs in the society. She have done her job to simplify the abstract and complex ideas. I can only say that our group is going to improve, I hope that next time our group can score a 3/4 at least.

Lit Circle Reflection (December 19th)

Mark for myself: 3/4

: The reason I give myself this mark is because I think I have achieve the requirement of a Discussion Director, which was to lead the group at the start and I have fully prepared myself with 5 different question to lead the talk and I have answered question other members has asked during the discussion, But there is still some mistake during the discussion and I've mess up what I should say next and that is what I have to improve for next Lit circle discussion.

Mark for group: 3/4

:I think most of my group members has did a great job, because all of them did contributed and they prepared their own questions related to the story and they could answer most of the question I've asked, but there is a person who did not prepare enough question for the discussion, which makes the discussion not as good as what it should be, but overall our group did prepare and did well.

I think i did a good job in my group's lit circle. I prepare the sentences that my group mates would like to know and encourage them to discuss about it and what is their opinion.

Overall grade of my group: 3/4

My group mates are quite responsible for their roles except someone. Most likely we will discuss about our opinion about different characters in the giver and why if we have some spare time. We would like to share our work and peer edit the worker and improve ourselves.

 Lit Circle (December 20th)
Group: Ian and Alex (Discussion Director), Kary (Illuminator), Anson (Word Watcher), Melody (Illustrator)
My grade: 2.5/4 I think I can have improvements on my preparation. Even though, I was really serious when I was doing it. If there was more time I would've prepared better, because I was still choosing the page before I had to contribute.
   My group: 3/4
Overall, I think our group did pretty well on the preparation. Maybe because our group members are shy or they don't think this is important. Our preparation became "Oh I'm just doing it to complete my homework." Whenever someone asks a question, very rarely there would be a long and serious answer. I think all members didn't contribute equally. I think it is not fair, for those who did prepare whereas that person who didn't prepare at all. Melody spoke for the longest amount of time. I didn't have enough time. Due to some of the time we wasted.
